Miner warranty – what it covers and how to create a Bitmain repair ticket
The warranty comes from the manufacturer, and you file the claim yourself. What the warranty covers, what voids it and how to create a repair ticket with Bitmain step by step.
Miners are covered by the manufacturer warranty. You file the claim with the manufacturer yourself. We send you the terms and contact channels, help with troubleshooting and answer questions about the process.
Duration
Bitmain usually gives 365 days on Bitcoin miners from the S19 generation onwards. The period starts when Bitmain ships the unit, not when it arrives at your site. The warranty period for your unit is stated in the quote. Other manufacturers apply their own terms.
What the warranty covers
Defects that originate in manufacturing or materials. The unit is repaired free of charge. After the warranty expires, Bitmain still repairs units, but for a fee.
What voids it
- Opening the unit or removing the warranty seals
- Third-party repairs and your own modifications, including conversion to immersion
- Third-party firmware and overclocking
- Mixed hashboards from different units
- Wrong voltage, moisture and corrosion
So do not open a unit during the warranty period, not even for thermal paste or to clean the inside.
Before the ticket
Many faults can be resolved without sending the unit in. Check:
- Is the correct voltage present, and are all power cables firmly seated?
- Does the log show the full chip count on every hashboard?
- Are all fans running?
- Does the fault persist after a factory reset?
Save the log and note the serial number. You need both for the ticket. Feel free to send us the log beforehand at info@cipheron.io.
The repair ticket with Bitmain
- Sign in. Open service.bitmain.com/repair/create and sign in with your Bitmain account. If you do not have one, you create it there.
- Select “Apply for Repair”.
- Enter the unit. “Type” and “Item” (model) are required fields, as is “Quantity”. Upload the serial number and the log file.
- Choose the shipping method. Under “Delivery” you enter the courier and tracking number. Under “Self-delivery” you state the drop-off date and upload the waybill.
- Add the tracking number later. If you do not have it yet, enter the date and time with a few letters as a placeholder and replace the entry with the real number within 7 days. The unit must be at the repair centre no later than 15 days after the ticket is created.
- Choose the repair centre. Bitmain suggests centres by distance.
- Submit. You receive a ticket ID. It is your case number; enclose it with the shipment.

Sending it in
- Only the defective part, if the fault can be narrowed down to a hashboard or the power supply and the manufacturer allows it. That saves freight.
- Packaging: the original box or one with equivalent padding, so that no further damage occurs in transit.
- Shipping costs: You pay for shipping to the repair centre. According to its terms, Bitmain covers the return shipment after the repair; the exceptions are units that are not repaired.
Transport damage and dead on arrival
This is a different case from the warranty. Check the shipment on delivery. If a unit is damaged or does not start, contact us immediately with photos of the packaging and the unit. We will then sort out repair or replacement with you.
All terms are set out under Warranty and returns.
